Imagine
This is the last day of your life. You were sent to a place where no one knows
who you are. You are sitting in a cell awaiting a horrible death. One of the people who
you thought was your friend has turned you in as a traitor. The multitude of people who once saw you performed such miraculous deeds; now look upon you as a false prophet.
You are being condemned along side two thieves and instead of getting the electric chair
or lethal injection, you are now being crucified.
Large spikes are penetrating your hands and feet as you are stretched across one of the sacred symbols that now becomes you death knell. As you are hanging up in front of the same people you've helped, some begin to throw rocks at you. Soldiers now begin to stab you with their spears and spat on you as if you were nothing. How many of you can look upon this situation and instead of cursing everyone's name, ask for forgiveness for these inhumane deeds. As you slowly sink in your last breath, one thief asks you to remember him. While this is noble, it doesn't help your situation, you're still dying.

So as you go though your daily routine this Easter of dressing up or even staying home, ask yourself, what if this was you? Will you at least bother to say thanks to Jesus for taking your place? If you find this hard to do, just imagine, what if this was you?
